Landcare NSW has an annual funding agreement with the National Landcare Program. The program is a joint initiative of the Department of Agriculture and Water and Department of the Environment. It supports sustainable agriculture and the protection, conservation and rehabilitation of Australia’s natural environment.

Additionally, the Caring for our Country program funds one full-time equivalent Regional Landcare Facilitator position in each of its 56 natural resource management regions, including the 11 Landcare NSW regions.

Partnerships also exist with the 20 Million Trees initiative and the Department of Environment’s Green Army strategy.

2015 Community and Philanthropy Partnerships Week

Landcare NSW strongly supports the goal of philanthropic partnerships to support the community to take responsibility for the environment and our natural resources.

We made a film Transforming Our Future Together to promote our partnership with the Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation for Community and Philanthropy Partnerships Week 2015. It was financed by a grant from the Prime Minister’s Community Business Partnership managed by Philanthropy Australia and the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR), a not-for-profit organisation that harnesses the power of collective investment between government, business and philanthropy to improve the lives of those living in rural, regional and remote Australia.
