Curlewing the Landscape - Narrabeen
The Hawkesbury Nepean Catchment Management Authority (CMA), the Coastal Environment Centre and the Environmental Trust are hosting a workshop on 16 March 2010,6.30 to 9.30pm on the Bush Stone-curlew.
The program for the night will include:
- information on the Bush stone-curlew's ecology and current population,
- managing vital habitat,
- the captive breeding program,
- translocation and release program,
- personal experiences of the Bush Stone-Curlew by the presenters Jan and Neville from the Nature Conservation Working Group in the Murray Catchment,
- a photographic display,
- informative brochures,
- an exhibit of taxidermy Bush Stone-curlews and also their eggs.
This workshop is for environmental volunteers and anyone with a keen interest in our native birds. So come along and learn about this endangered ground dwelling bird, find out how you can help their population, while you meet new friends or catch up with some old ones.
The workshop will be held at the Coastal Environment Centre, at Narrabeen Lagoon. The entrance is at Pelican Path, Lake Park Road, North Narrabeen.
The cost is free and supper will be provided.
Environmental volunteers, members of bird groups and their family and friends welcome.
