Environmental Trust - Research Expressions of Interest
The Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water (DECCW) has announced that funding for 2010 of $1,000,000 is available as Environmental Research Grants under the NSW Environmental Trust. The objectives of the Environmental Research Program are:
- to generate new knowledge or information to facilitate local solutions to environmental problems
- discover new methods of operation for NSW industries that are less harmful to the environment
- provide knowledge about general environmental problems
- to assess environmental degradation.
The Environmental Trust has designated Climate Change as the major category for the next three rounds of the research program, starting in 2010, with the following minor categories:
- Biodiversity and Conservation
- Integrated Landscape Management
- Environmental Pollution
- Resource Efficiency and Sustainability
The maximum amount available per grant in the Climate Change category is $200,000, with a maximum amount of $100,000 in the other categories. The Environmental Research Program also provides seeding grants, with a maximum amount of $20,000. Landcare and other community groups are welcome to apply in all categories.
